Annatto

30mL of Annatto in a plastic bottle with dropper control lid for easy measuring of the small quantities required.

Annatto is a natural food colouring derived from the seeds of the Achiote tree that imparts an orange to red colour to cheese.  It also conveys its own slightly nutty, sweet, peppery flavour and aroma.  It is the traditional colourant for Gloucester, Cheshire, Red Leciester, Cheddar, Dutch Mimolette and some blue cheese.  Use between 0.1 to 0.5 mL per litre of milk, or use the bottles dropper dispenser to achieve your desired intensity of colour.  This 30 mL bottle will colour from 60L to 300L of milk.
