Large Square Mould

$89.00

Large capacity mould that is square in cross section, with pressing plate. This mould is very robust, weighing in at around ¾ kg on its own and with pressing plate, over 1 kg.  It has feet to enable good drainage too.  Its sides taper inwards a little from opening to base and its corners are rounded to allow for easier curd extraction.

Vital statistics (internal):  H 18.5cm & W (top) 22.7cm / (bottom) 20.9cm.  Total approx. volume =  8.8 litres

The follower has been cut to settle at a terminal height of around 9.5cm above the internal base, so around the halfway point.  This has been a judgement call because of the moulds tapering sides, to ensure that when full of curds and pressed, the gap around the edge of the follower when it is near the top of the mould is not too large.  This gives a minimum pressed curd volume of around 4.3 litres and a max of around 8 litres (if curds were ‘toped up’ in the mould at initial press weight).  The follower measures 21.5cm2 so is a large surface area so can accommodate large diameter weights/kettle bells.

She is big and will suit homes with a couple of house cows I feel 😊
