5 L Feta Storage Container

A cheese conditioning box is a practical, versatile tool for ripening and storing cheese. It helps create the humid, controlled environment needed for white mould and smear-ripened rinds, while also providing drainage. It is also useful for storing fresh cheeses in the fridge, keeping brined cheeses like feta fully submerged and surface salted cheeses like Farmhouse ‘basted’.  We have a box for every occasion!  All our cheese conditioning boxes are BPA and PVC free, dishwasher safe, and suitable for use in the fridge or freezer.

5 L Feta Storage Container has been selected specifically for the brining and long-term storage of feta cheese. The container measures 36.5 cm long x 15.2 cm wide x 12.5 cm high (from base with lid on) and has an internal rack.

It holds 3 feta’s made in our square feta baskets or one large feta made in the large basket plus a small one (with a bit of trimming).  Feta has a tendency to rise and float in its brine storage solution, and an unpressed feta can be particularly buoyant.  Keeping it submerged to prevent spoilage can be tricky but essential.  The rack in this container box sits over the top of the blocks of cheese to keep it submerged.  I have also been known to place something weighty on the top of the rack to keep the feta submerged.  Inexpensive old stainless-steel cutlery from a charity shop which has been boiled (to sanitise) works well!

This container is too large for courier bag, so it has to be boxed for postage.  If you would like to order more than one or include another large item such as a basket mould or cheese making kit with your order, please send us an enquiry first so we can provide a shipping quote. Smaller items can usually be packed inside the boxes. We aim to reply the same day. All items are carefully wrapped and packed together to help keep shipping costs as low as we can.
