The thermometers that we stock are 305mm long spirit filled glass stemmed laboratory thermometers, manufactured by Brannan in the UK.
We have just added to our range with two new thermometers available to bring you improved accuracy. One is a ‘full temperature range’ thermometer whilst the second focuses on a more ‘restricted and lower’ temperature range. They offer excellent accuracy that is far superior to digital and dial thermometers in this price bracket.
There is a temptation to stir your milk with such a long thermometer (that’s me!) but try to resist otherwise you risk breaking it!
All thermometers are ‘anti-roll’ and come in a lightweight telescopic storage protector case to keep them safe.
Full temperature range thermometer:
-20 to +1100C in divisions of 1.00C with an accuracy of +/-1.0°C @ 35°C
This thermometer has yellow back glass with contrasting red spirit filling providing clear scale and column definition for easy reading. One thermometer to cover every cheese you could possibly want to make.
This thermometer is fitted with a triangular Evoprene (synthetic flexible quick dry rubber) ‘end cap’ to stop them rolling off your bench top. This ‘end cap’ also has a hole in it should you want to poke something through it to suspend the thermometer across your milk pan, very carefully of course! This is a ‘full immersion’ thermometer meaning you can poke it into your milk to any depth and its accuracy is not affected. It is 305mm in length, so the temperature markings are well spaced for easy reading and good accuracy. It comes in a lightweight telescopic storage protector case.
Restricted temperature range thermometer:
-10 to +500C in divisions of 0.50C with an accuracy of +/-0.5°C @ 35°C
This thermometer has white back glass with contrasting red spirit filling. It is perfect for soft and mesophilic cheeses giving you greater temperature accuracy and ease of read as the temperature gradations are in 0.5°C and very well-spaced out along the length of the thermometer shaft.
